Wine is considered the oldest alcoholic beverage humans consume both for healing purposes and pleasure. Its unique production process is so simple that anyone who has passion for grape cultivation can easily learn how to make a good wine. It’s a drink that people have made up Gods for it (Greek god of wine – Dionis ) and Jesus served it to his apostles during the well known Last Supper.
Today, wine industry is a business field where large manufacturers who own large fields battle over bigger and reliable customers. It’s an industry where even small wineries can manage to end the year with high profits, if they create a wine that customers will fall in love with. Like we mentioned, production is quite simple but like any profession, there are experts who spend their whole lives in perfecting the taste of different wine sorts. Hence, they are usually more successful than others. Cellar time, grape quality, cultivation process and many other steps of wine production as a whole, have their own tricks and rules that can be learned over time. But as globalization has transferred market-oriented economies in all countries in the world, competition is becoming more fierce in every business field. That is why in wine markets every marketing tool is used, even wine bottle design.
There are two main sorts of wine: red and white. These sorts are different from each other in taste and occasion in which they are consumed. What we like to discuss is why red wine is used more in winter than white one is.
Experts claim that one reason why red whine is consumed in winter is because it pairs better with the food that is served in winter. When we say food in winter we mean all kinds of red meats. There are thousands of red wine brands that also differ from each other and it is up to you to decide which one you like served along your steak and salad. And price should never lure you in choosing your wine because sometimes even the best wine bottle design cannot outmatch the care and passion used to create a homemade wine.
Another reason red wine is better for winter days is because it is usually kept at room temperature – perfect for cold winters. Wine degustators say that red wines should be kept at about 60 degrees, but this shouldn’t be taken too seriously as in the end it all comes down to personal taste.
From a health point of view, red wine is far ahead of white wine. Red wine consists more antioxidants that help our immune system in the constant battle with all kinds of diseases.
