It is recommended to know something about every type so you can choose a portable cement mixer according to your needs. In terms of their discharging mechanism, the portable cement mixers can either be slid or end dump. The dump end cement mixers are very useful and effective for pouring the concrete into curbs and other small areas.

For example, when placing a concrete over a larger area, the portable cement mixer is much more convenient since it can be moved easily on the ground. It has a small compact design, and because of its small size and ability for easy movement, this machine is also known as a mobile cement mixer. The stationary cement mixers on the other hand, tend to be much heavier and difficult for operation or movement when concrete needs to be pored on several locations immediately. Although the stationary mixers have bigger capacity, more human effort is required for their operation.

Portable cement mixers also differ in terms of speed and power source. Different models are available on the market with different horsepower range. Portable concrete mixers are powered by electricity, petrol or diesel. Each model has own advantages and disadvantages depending on the power source. For example, the diesel or the petrol powered cement mixer can be used just about anywhere, even in places where there are no power outlets. The electricity powered mixers cannot be used in places without power outlets, but on the other hand, are more reliable and Eco-friendly.

The capacity is another important factor that needs to be considered when buying a portable cement mixer. The capacity of the mixer determines how much concrete can be mixed inside the drum. Again, the nature of your work determines what type of cement mixer is needed – a big capacity mixer or a small capacity mixer. Choosing the cement mixer with the right capacity for your work is essential, because overloaded cement mixers can spill out the concrete. Furthermore, the drum can be damaged if the cement mixer is overloaded.
